These books are like cake. You tell yourself you’re only going to have a little taste and then you come to hours later, book-drunk and with emotional chocolate frosting all over your face. WORTH IT. This book brought me so much joy when Ruby posted a chapter a day on FB. I looked forward to a new chapter everyday! I love Jerrok, Sophie and Sleipnir so much and I'm glad to have this on my kindle! 💙My only complaint about this book is Bethiah... Ugh I can't stand her character! And it seems I'm one in a few because for some reason a lot of people love her. (i don't know why) I hated her in the last book and I hated her even more in this one! A lot people want her book and I just want her to go away! She was up Sophie's butt for no reason claiming to be protective of her cousin.. yeah ok... She knew them two were into each other. And in what world is it ok to take someones ship and keep them tied up and captive in it while you tear their ship apart? Also the sex jokes to her cousin? What the..?! I'm sure she might be decent deep down and I know she's done a couple nice things for Jerrok and Sophie but I still can't stand her and I hope to never read her character again. I know she'll pop back up though.. 😑 Despite Bethiah I loved this book and the added epilogue! Omg a new baby carinoux?! I love it!Also reading this book and with the Jabberwock crew showing up it made me think of Iris and how I wish Ruby put as much time and care into her character like she did with Sophie. Because Iris' book was so disturbing, so messed up and didn't make any sense with how she was treated on that slave ship. She deserved someone with a lot of understanding and patience and lots of time to deal with the trauma she went through. And I don't feel like she got that with how the hero acted with her and how quick her book and relationship went.
