Ebook About Music is the only form of communication Connor Owens controls. No matter how badly he wishes to fit in, friendly banter and casual conversations have never been his thing. College is yet another social universe he has no clue how to navigate—until he meets Jared, a football player with chestnut eyes and a cocky grin that holds the power to shatter his self-imposed prison. Jared's attention opens Connor up to a new realm of emotional and physical intimacy. But as Connor's self-confidence grows, so does his fear that everything will fall apart. Because in this socially stratified world, how long can a relationship between an introverted violinist and a closeted football player really last?Book Social Skills Review :
I love this book. I think I've read it a handful of times now. Its a super sweet story. Conner is an Orchestra Violin Player who is super shy, geeky and awkward when it comes to talking to people and having friends. Jared is a football player who needs Conner's help being tutored at school. Their "relationship" forms, and Jared is able to help Connor overcome some of his fears of communicating with others, and helps Connor "Spread his Wings". Sometimes Jared really makes me angry with the way he treats Connor, wanting to keep their relationship and friendship a secret at first. But I understand its part of the book and shows more depth on how their characters develop and interact with each other. There's a little extra drama in the book regarding parents and crazy ex's that isn't really needed but it does give more to the story. Overall this book is really well written.Audio - I really liked the narration, he did great. My First time listening to Andrew Eiden but I will be sure to look for more Audiobooks of his in the future. I loved this book so, so, so much! It was just so . . . AMAZING!It has the feels . . . oh, does it ever have the feels.Jared and Connor . . . I just loved them so much. I connected in many ways with both characters. Like Connor, I'm really shy, not as shy as him but shy enough so I can empathize with him. I related to Jared because, in general, he was a great guy, not quite sure just what he wanted and with the things that he did know he wanted, he was afraid. Anyone can sympathize with him on that.I loved that at first glance Jared and Connor are two totally different people that probably would never, and perhaps should never, have anything in common or could ever possibly relate but they do and they are just so FREAKING CUTE! <3 They are just so adorable together!I loved all the characters, though I was ready to shoot Ronnie there for a while because like Connor I thought she was coming in between him and Jared, but there at the end you have some revelations about her, and in the end I just felt really sorry for her. Connor's group of friends, Rebecca and Tate and Chrissy and A.J. were great. They were just what Connor needed so he could come out of his shell.Connor's parents, especially his mother . . . eh, I didn't really like her at all. I thought she took the "soccer mom" role way too seriously [and I'm just using that term because there's no soccer whatsoever in this story]. His kid sister reminded me in some ways like my own . . . all the annoying things any way.My favorite character after Connor and Jared is one that appeared only briefly, but I just loved her for the little bit that she was there: Jared's mother. She was so accepting of Jared when it's revealed to her that he's gay. She acts the way all parents' should act whenever their child tells them that he or she she is gay or whatever his or her case may be.I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend that anyone read this. It was the best $2.99 I've ever spent on Amazon.
